Additionally, it is integrated with DF NavWiz and DFleet Software, enhancing its performance and reliability in material handling operations.

AMRs are robots capable of navigating their surroundings without requiring direct supervision from the operator. Equipped with advanced sensors, maps, and computers, they autonomously avoid obstacles, rerouting when necessary and function as autonomous transportation units. AMRs are commonly used for material transport in distribution centers, production facilities, and warehouses with continuous workflow, allowing human workers to focus on value-added tasks that require critical thinking and problem solving skills.

 

  • Enhanced productivity: AMRs eliminates the need for human workers to spend time walking around to deliver goods and gives opportunity for them to focus on more complex tasks.

  • Reduced labor costs: Fewer workers are needed to achieve the same, or even higher levels of productivity compared to manual operations.

  • Improved operational efficiency: AMRs are not liable to human errors or inconsistencies caused by absenteeism, stress, fatigue, or lack of experience.

  • Increased safety: AMRs can take over high-risk delivery tasks that might cause injury to human workers. These robots are designed to dynamically interact with their environment, ensuring a high level of responsiveness.

  • Rapid deployment: AMRs can be implemented within an operation in approximately 1 to 6 weeks, or even faster, depending on the number of robots and the complexity of the integration.

At Robomate, we prioritize compliance with ISO standards and have integrated advanced safety features into our AMRs to meet these benchmarks. Here are two key systems enhancing safety in our robots:

  1. NavWiz Obstacle Sensing System
    Our obstacle sensing system anticipates hazards using designated “Speed Reduction Zones” (Figure 2). Upon detecting obstacles, it automatically reduces the AMR’s speed to pre-configured levels, enabling safe navigation. If an obstacle is detected in the “Safety Stop Region,” the system triggers an immediate stop, ensuring maximum safety.

  2. Safety Controller System
    This system operates independently alongside the obstacle sensing system, continuously monitoring the AMR’s environment. If the AMR exceeds safe limits or rarely encounters an unforeseen issue, the safety controller intervenes. It triggers a forceful stop by cutting motor power, minimizing risks and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Standards like ISO 13849-1 and ISO 3691-4 play a key role in ensuring AMR safety, offering comprehensive frameworks for risk mitigation and regulatory compliance.
